Ana Colette Pereira de Castro Osório Maurício is the Director of the PhD Program in Veterinary Sciences at ICBAS-UP. Her current work focuses on Experimental Surgery and Regenerative Medicine, leading a multidisciplinary research group dedicated to the development of Cell Therapies and Biomaterials. These are tested through pre-clinical trials in animal models using Experimental Surgery and serve as a platform for the translation of knowledge into clinical trials in both Human and Veterinary Medicine. She coordinates the Regenerative Medicine and Experimental Surgery subunit at the Animal Science Study Centre (CECA) of the Institute of Science, Technology and Agroenvironment of the University of Porto (ICETA), and at the Associate Laboratory AL4Animals. She supervises and co-supervises numerous PhD and Master’s theses in the fields of Veterinary Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Bioengineering, and Medical Sciences. She is the co-author of numerous scientific articles published in indexed international journals, several national and international book chapters, and editor of three international scientific books. She has also coordinated several nationally and internationally funded competitive research projects as principal investigator and is the inventor of 7 international patents.
