Alexandra P. Marques holds a Habilitation in Tissue Engineering, Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cells, with a specialization in Stem cells (2020), a PhD in Materials Science and Technology – Biomaterials (2004) and a BSc in Biochemistry (1997). She is a Coordinating Investigator in the 3B’s Research Group, University of Minho, Portugal. Her research focuses on advancing the understanding of skin wound healing and disease mechanisms by leveraging stem cells and the extracellular matrix. She has been developing accurate and reliable 3D tissue models that depict key pathophysiological markers of skin diseases, while integrating integrates stem cells and biomaterials to devise innovative strategies for wound healing.
