Mission

Founded in 2005, the Portuguese Society for Stem Cells and Cell Therapy is an independent, non-profit organisation established to support and promote multidisciplinary research in stem cells and cell therapy, encourage scientific and technological exchange in the field, and disseminate relevant information on stem cells and their therapeutic applications to the general public.

To fulfil its mission, SPCE-TC carries out a variety of activities:

SPCE-TC Congresses
Held every two years, the SPCE-TC Congresses present the most relevant scientific advances, both nationally and internationally, in the field of stem cells and cell therapies.
With]Out[Borders
Held biennially, the With]Out[Borders symposia foster a close and collaborative environment, focused on interaction among participants and the discussion of specific scientific areas.
SPCE-TC Webcasts
The SPCE-TC Webcasts promote the sharing of knowledge and the dissemination of recent findings in the field of stem cells and cell therapies, in an informal and accessible setting. They are delivered online.
Crioestaminal & SPCE-TC Award for Research in Regenerative Medicine
An award that recognises and honours innovative and relevant basic or applied research in the field of regenerative medicine.
Science Outreach
SPCE-TC promotes science outreach initiatives in various contexts, from International Stem Cell Day activities to occasional events in schools and with other local and national stakeholders.
Scientific Collaboration and Support for Academic and Professional Training
SPCE-TC fosters the exchange of scientific knowledge among the various stakeholders in the field of stem cells and encourages the continuous training of students and professionals.
