His research interests lie at the intersection between materials science, biology and medicine, namely on the development of biomaterials for biofabrication using principles and tools from tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. His research work has been focused on the molecular design of biofunctional hydrogels as 3D biomimics of the extracellular matrix.
