The research group aims at generating knowledge to better understand and treat age-related diseases, namely cardiovascular diseases. The research group has three main avenues of research: 1- Disease modeling and drug screening program: in vitro cell/tissue models from human stem cells. A particular interest of the group is to create in vitro tissues to study human biology or to model age-related diseases to better understand their biology and identify new therapeutic agents. 2- Regenerative Medicine: to treat age-related diseases by controlling the endogenous activity of stem cells. Another interest of the group is to control the endogenous activity of stem cells (e.g. self-renewal, differentiation, migration) to treat cardiovascular and neurological diseases. 3- Ageing: to understand and treat ageing by the use of bioengineering tools. The group has merged two different fields of knowledge that have not been connected at all: ageing and bioengineering.
