Our research group focuses on identifying and characterizing modulators of neural stem cells to enhance adult neurogenesis and oligodendrogenesis. This strategy aims to promote brain functional repair and to develop innovative therapeutic platforms to counteract neurological disorders such as Multiple Sclerosis, Epilepsy, and Major Depressive Disorder.
To achieve these goals, we adopt a multidisciplinary approach, combining in vivo, ex vivo, and in vitro methodologies to investigate the mechanisms underlying neural stem cell regulation. Our research spans key areas such as neuroplasticity, neuroinflammation, and the impact of physical exercise and cannabinoids on brain function.
By exploring these biological processes, we aim to develop novel interventions capable of restoring damaged neural circuits and improving clinical outcomes for patients affected by brain pathologies.
